Election Strategy for Sugar Hill's Political Incumbents
It’s very interesting that as we near a significant election season (3 of 5 seats), the City has chosen to make the blame game their main strategy.
That indicates that there is some understanding that the decisions they’re making are unwise, unpopular, or some mixture of the two. It also indicates a childlike lack of accountability and responsibility.
Mayor Brandon Hembree, who traditionally campaigns actively and aggressively for those candidates who do his bidding (or “follow the vision”), apparently thinks there are only three problems in Sugar Hill.
Me, for SHOWING you what’s going on, and not fawning over His Excellency to the proper degree.
Former Mayor Gary Pirkle for coming to meetings and daring to speak about financial responsibility (and under whose tenure Mayor Hembree can magically and hypocritically find all manner of governmental failings).
Oh, and now all the residents of Sugar Hill because you asked for some places to eat and shop without realizing that would be interpreted as carte blanche to do whatever the brilliant minds at City Hall thought it might possibly take to get that.
Elected office is a serious job with serious responsibility. These guys treat it like a smoke and mirrors act where it doesn’t matter what you do, only how it looks.
The best way to keep a job is to do it.
Blame less. Work more.
