2023 Travel Budget to Increase by 33.5%

The proposed 2023 budget the City released the day before Thanksgiving shows that the City plans to increase its travel budget by 33.5%,

While the Mayor and Council travel budget shows a decrease, I suspect that may just be a transfer of spending to the Administration department, whose travel budget is proposed to increase by 36.74%. The Administration department regularly books and pays for hotels for the Mayor and Council.

The largest proposed departmental increases are for the Bowl/Plaza Events and Cemetery, which are looking at bumps of 207% and 200%, respectively.

Information Technology, Facilities, Planning/Development, and the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) also have massive travel increases in the proposed 2023 budget.
